Class: Trickster (Cursory Overlook)

So the Trickster is a nice combination of the Arcane and Guile tracks, so how do we do something different with it.  Sure, the idea of a fairy trickster or a bard is something that has been played out time and time again in D&D and various other roleplaying games, however, one of the problems that we see arise is that the character is too jack-of-all-trades, too underpowered, or essentially, something that can already be done better with a magic class or with multiclassing.  The question is, how do we make someone want to play a Trickster more than anything else?

Very good question, let's start with the basics:
- Abilitiy to use ranged weapons, light melee weapons, and light armor
- A few extra skills, not as many as the scoundrel but similar
- +3 Knowledge (Arcane), Connections, Dishonesty, Thievery, Linguistics

Now, what to give them to make them unique?  Remember, a Trickster likes to fool people, he likes to pull a fast one on them, some are referred to as charlatans, they are generally liars, but by the time people realize how fake they are, they have already skipped town.

That's a good word to describe them: fake.  Let's see what we can do with that?

- Spellcasting at half the amount usually granted, and no uber-spells (Level 3)
- Arcane Trickery: the trickster gets a pool of points, based on his Determination attribute, and can expend them to do special moves that allow him to trick people.
  - Spell Mimic - here's where I think we could have a lot of fun, they can "pretend" to cast another spell by any magic user, divine user, or whatever.  Essentially, the spell looks and sounds real, but it's completely fake.  People affected by the spell must succeed a save to see if they believe it, if they fail, they believe it's a real spell.  Spell mimics cannot deal damage, etc, but they can be used to ward off people, scare them, convince them of miracles, etc.
  - Mirage - works like silent image - creates people or things that look realistic, once again people must make a save or believe that the things are real.
  - Phantom Sounds - essentially the caster can make sounds lasting as Guile score minutes, these sounds can be just sounds, or words, whatever.
  - Nightmarish Visage - causes fear in 30  foot radius

Now, I'm sure there will be more ideas in here, but I want to see what magic allows for users to do first, and to do that, we have to actually come up with a magic system ... that being said, right now the Trickster is the closest thing to a Mage available to play, so there's that.
